  • Hi, I’m Amy, the hands behind Little Whitby Potter. From our cozy shop at 7 Silver Street, Whitby, I create small-batch pottery inspired by the rugged coastline and moorland that surround our town.

What began over ten years ago as a simple weekend hobby has grown into a full-blown obsession. Every piece I make — from mugs to bowls to decorative ceramics — is shaped, glazed, and fired with care, ensuring that no two are ever the same. Each item I hope carries a little piece of Whitby with it.

I love sharing this connection with everyone who visits the shop or takes a piece home. For me, pottery isn’t just about making beautiful objects — it’s about capturing a sense of place, preserving a moment, and inviting others to hold a piece of Whitby in their hands.

  • Made in Whitby brings together creative business owners who source and make distinctive, locally crafted products in Whitby. Our goal is to build a resilient community of like-minded producers and makers, celebrating and promoting the unique sense of place that Whitby offers.

We also organise the popular Made in Whitby Festivals, where local creativity takes centre stage, held at The Whitby Brewery, with stunning views of the iconic Whitby Abbey — a perfect showcase for the town’s talented makers.

  • 13th & 14th September – Staithes Art Festival

The Staithes Festival has earned a reputation as one of the friendliest arts events on the Yorkshire coast and is a must-see in the regional arts calendar. During the festival, the doors of local cottages are opened as pop-up galleries, creating a unique and intimate exhibition experience.

You can find Amy from Little Whitby Potter exhibiting at St Peter’s Festival Gallery, showcasing her handcrafted pottery inspired by the Yorkshire coastline alongside 5 other artists.
